O wretched man I am; who will save me from the body of death?Romans 7:24
Many are the times we are weighed down with the sense of sense after sin. We lament just like Paul did and in our lamentations, we become detached; feeling lonely as the thought of our sin cutting us off from God lingers in our minds and presses hard upon our souls. Inner cries from our burdened hearts are heard from all lands and ages yet, to all there is but one answer and it is Jesus Christ, the lamb of God.
Behold, the Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world.John 1:29
There you go, the one who can save you from the body of death is Jesus Christ; the only medium through which we can be saved and can reunite with God the father. Even before his coming on earth, his saving grace and purpose was already revealed to us through the story of Jacob who becomes Israel after wrestling with God.
Jacob left Beersheba and set off to Haran. When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night for the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on earth with it’s too reaching to heaven and the angels of the Lord were ascending and descending upon it. There above it stood the Lord and he said, ” I am the Lord God of Abraham and of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.Genesis 28:10-13
The mystic ladder in Genesis represents our savior, Jesus Christ; the only medium of communication between God and man. God had provided in which Jacob could be restored to communion with him and thus, Jacob’ s needs and longing were met and this is proven in the book of John when Jesus tells Nathanael about God’ s plan of salvation.
Ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of the God ascending and descending on the son of manJohn 1: 51
In our weakness and helplessness, Christ connects us to God. His life, death and intercession was all for man’s redemption.

Therefore, when we are repentant of our wrong doing, we must contemplate upon the amazing sacrifice that was and is still being made for us and draw closer to Christ, the only way to God, the only way to save us from our wretchedness and body of death for he says ” I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me”.
Jesus is here to make a way for you, do not be afraid, do not be downcast; he is always there holding your hand.
